Admissions

Thank you for your interest in Morning Song Forest School! We are excited that you are considering nature immersion education for your child.  Acceptance to Morning Song is based on several elements including age eligibility,  the family and child's fit with the educational philosophy, the child's capacity to adapt to self-directed activities and to collaborate with others in a small class environment, and current openings. We require that students joining us mid-year attend at least one trial day (at no charge) to help determine if outdoor-based learning is a good fit for them. 

 Admissions are accepted year-round with the initial enrollment period beginning in March for the following school year.  The priority for enrollment and wait-list is as follows:

Priority #1 - Current Students

Priority #2 - Siblings of Current Students

Priority #3 - All Other Applicants 

Behavior and temperament considerations: As a very small school with a more flexible environment than most traditional schools, we lack the resources currently to meet the needs of children with serious behavioral challenges, or those who experience great struggles with changes in routine. Children need to be healthy enough to be physically able to spend extended time outdoors in various weather, capable of walking moderate distances and carrying and being responsible for their backpacks and supplies throughout the day. Children must demonstrate a desire to participate and stay with the group throughout the day, and be capable of listening to and taking directions from adults, particularly regarding safety. Please keep in mind these guidelines and the limitations of our program when deciding whether or not to apply.

Tuition Information

Tuition for Morning Song is paid on a monthly basis for the 10-month school year. We offer a 10% discount for full or part-time tuition paid annually, as well as a 10% sibling discount. Tuition is due by the 5th of each month. Payments can be made by cash, check, Venmo, or credit card via invoice. Rates are as follows: 

Part-time/3 days per week (9am - 3pm):  $340/month

Part-time/2 days per week (9am - 3pm): $250/month 

 

We operate a 10-month school-year long program. We do not offer seasonal classes or a drop-in program for school-aged children. We ask for 30 days' notice of intent to disenroll from the program so that we may alert families on our waiting list to an opening in a timely manner. In the case of discontinuation without notice, or dismissal from the school for any reason, an early withdrawal fee for one month’s tuition will be applied. If you paid the full year’s tuition upfront, you would be refunded for the months following your child’s departure, minus the early withdrawal fee.

Enrollment Step #2

Submit initial enrollment form along with $40 application fee. Click below to access forms. 

Enrollment Step #3

Submit completed enrollment packet forms & required payment. Depending upon the enrollment period, payment will be either $100 to hold a spot or the first months tuition if starting immediately.  Payments can be made online by invoice or by cash, check or Venmo.

Enrollment Step #4

Obtain all required clothing, gear and supplies. Click Below for a list of required items.
